Statutes of CampusGrün TU Dortmund

§ 1 General Provisions

  1. “CampusGrün TU Dortmund” is a grassroots democratic student group at the Technical University of Dortmund.
  2. Its purpose is to promote social and democratic, sustainable and ecological, queer-feminist and open-minded as well as anti-racist and anti-fascist politics.
  3. It is open to all students who wish to engage in line with these goals.
  4. CampusGrün TU Dortmund is based in Dortmund.
  5. The organs of CampusGrün TU Dortmund are the General Assembly and the Executive Board.

§ 2 Membership

  1. Membership in CampusGrün TU Dortmund is granted by the Executive Board upon application.
  2. The prerequisite is that the applicant supports the goals of CampusGrün TU Dortmund and is enrolled at the Technical University of Dortmund. The granting of membership must be recorded.
  3. If a membership application is rejected under § 2(1), the affected person and any member may file an objection. The General Assembly then decides on the acceptance or rejection of the membership application.
  4. A member may be expelled by a three-quarters majority of the present members at a General Assembly if they act contrary to the goals defined in § 1(2) or behave in a way that is damaging to CampusGrün TU Dortmund.
  5. For an extraordinary General Assembly to discuss such an expulsion, members must be invited two weeks in advance. Upon request by five members, including at least one FINTA* person, such a General Assembly must be convened. The exclusion must be recorded.
  6. Membership ends upon resignation, expulsion, or de-enrollment.
  7. Every member has the right to participate in all events, assemblies, votes, and elections within the framework of the statutes and to hold office.
  8. No membership fees are charged.

§ 3 The General Assembly

  1. The General Assembly is the highest decision-making body of CampusGrün TU Dortmund. It meets regularly.
  2. Invitations to General Assemblies must be issued by the Executive Board in written form. If board elections or statute amendments are on the agenda, members must be invited at least two weeks in advance in written form.
  3. The General Assembly decides on all matters of CampusGrün TU Dortmund, unless the statutes or a prior decision of the General Assembly have delegated authority to the Executive Board.
  4. The General Assembly has quorum if properly convened and at least five members, including at least one FINTA* person, are present.
  5. Quorum is verified at the beginning of the meeting and remains valid until a motion is made to the contrary.
  6. A motion is considered passed if a simple majority of present eligible voters agree.
  7. All General Assembly sessions are public.
  8. In cases of gross misconduct, both members and guests may be excluded from the meeting by a two-thirds majority of the present members.
  9. Working groups may be formed, which may elect specialized spokespersons.

§ 4 The Executive Board

  1. The Executive Board conducts the day-to-day affairs of CampusGrün TU Dortmund. It is responsible for implementing decisions and representing the group externally.
  2. The Executive Board consists of two spokespersons and two to four additional members. At least half of the spokesperson roles and the board as a whole must be held by FINTA* persons.
  3. The board is elected for one year. The term ends with the election of a new board.
  4. A position on the board is incompatible with the role of AStA spokesperson or deputy AStA spokesperson.
  5. Individual board members can only be removed through immediate re-election, in accordance with the procedure from § 3(2).
  6. Vacant positions may be filled through by-elections, also in accordance with § 3(2).
  7. The term ends with the conclusion of the current election period.

§ 5 Final Provisions

  1. Board elections are generally held by secret ballot. The person receiving an absolute majority of the votes in the first round is elected. If no one achieves this in the first round, a simple majority suffices in the second round.
  2. Elections for other responsibilities are generally conducted openly by show of hands unless a present eligible voter requests a secret ballot. The same majority rules apply.
  3. Amendments to the statutes must be adopted by a two-thirds majority of the present members. Relevant proposals under § 3(2) must be made available to members in written form at least three days before the General Assembly.
  4. Amendments to such proposals may be submitted during the General Assembly within the scope of the original proposal. These are subject to the rules in § 3(4).
  5. The dissolution of “CampusGrün TU Dortmund” may only be decided by a General Assembly specifically convened for this purpose with four weeks’ notice and by a three-quarters majority of those present.
  6. These statutes come into effect on the day of their adoption by the General Assembly in January 2025.
